Level Information Level 1: This is the introductory level to competitive swimming. (practice 2-3 days a week) (All swimmers with no competition experience should come for an evaluation in the water prior to joining USA swimming.) Swimmers should be able to swim the length of the pool using some form of front crawl and again on their back. We will be working on the basic competitive swim strokes as well as starts and turns. The swimmers will learn proper body position, breathing and swimming related skills. Our intent is for these swimmers to have fun and become stronger swimmers. Potential meet entries should be discussed with the coach. Level 2 Blue & Gold: This level is working to improve their technique and racing skills as well as build their endurance. (practices 2-3 days a week) At this level more complex training sets are introduced and swimmers become familiar with the pace clock. At this level the swimmer is expected to take an active role in their development as a competitive swimmer. Swimmers are encouraged to compete at meets. Potential meet entries should be discussed with the coaches. Level 3: This level is working to perfect their skills as well as increase their endurance. (practices 3 days a week) These swimmers are expected to show a higher level of commitment to swimming and demonstrate it at practice on a daily basis. Personal goal setting will be a part of these swimmers progress. Potential meet entries should be discussed with the coaches.
